DOOMLOCK / Legal

Privacy Policy

Your Screen Time never leaves your phone.

Doomlock locks the apps you choose and lets a small crew of people you trust decide when to unlock them. Here's exactly what we store, why, and how to get rid of it. Last updated 8 August 2026.

The short version: your Screen Time data never leaves your phone. We never sell your data, and there is no advertising or tracking of any kind. You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, at any time.

What we never collect

Which apps you block, and how much you use them. iOS represents your chosen apps as opaque tokens – Doomlock cannot read the names of the apps you select, and neither can we. Those tokens live only in a private container on your own device and are never uploaded. When your crew is told you locked something, they get a count, not an identity: “3 items selected.”

We also never collect your contacts, location, photos, browsing history, advertising identifiers, or any analytics or tracking data.

What we do collect

Sign in with Apple user ID
Identifies your account
Email address
Matches a crew invite to the right account
Display name
So your crew knows who is asking
Crew connections
Who may approve your unlocks
Unlock requests & decisions
Duration, reason (fixed list), who responded, how fast
Keys and warden stats
Runs the reward system
Session minutes
Weekly progress and leaderboard
APNs device token
So your crew's decisions reach your phone

The “reason” attached to a request is picked from a fixed list. There is no free-text field, so you can't accidentally put personal information there.

Who can see it

Your crew sees your unlock requests, your responses to theirs, your display name, your weekly minutes, and your warden stats – until you remove them. Nobody else. We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your data, and we do not use it to train models.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase (hosted on AWS, Tokyo), acting as our processor. Traffic is encrypted with TLS. Push notifications and sign-in are handled by Apple.

Data retention

Profile, crew, requests, sessions, keys, device tokens
Kept until account deletion
Key balances
Reset weekly; rows removed with your account
Screen Time selection
On-device only; cleared on deletion or uninstall
Backups
Provider backups may persist up to 30 days after deletion

Deleting your account

Doomlock → You → Delete account → Delete everything.

This immediately and permanently deletes your profile, crew connections, requests, sessions, keys, and device tokens; removes you from other people's crews; lifts any Screen Time shields so your apps work again; and signs you out. Requests you responded to in someone else's history stay in their record with your name detached – nothing identifying you survives. This cannot be undone.

Children

Doomlock is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export, or erase your data, or to object to processing. Account deletion covers erasure directly; for anything else, contact us.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we'll update the date above and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
